Being Organic Won't Stop Contamination

Hitting close to home, Wegmans has recalled fresh fruit, regular and organic, as well as baked goods made with such fruit for possible Listeria contamination.

A California packing company has voluntarily issued a nationwide recall for several conventional and organic varieties of stone fruits packed between June 1-12 because of possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

Wawona Packing Co. of Cutler, CA, issued a voluntary recall on Saturday of conventional and organic varieties of yellow peaches and nectarines, white peaches and nectarines, black plums and pluots (a plum/apricot hybrid)

Walmart China recalls donkey meat after failing to monitor suppliers

After US-based Walmart recalled the "Five Spice" donkey meat sold at its stores in Jinan in eastern China's Shandong province in early January, some insiders said that it showed the world's largest retailer does not monitor its suppliers, reports Beijing's Securities Daily.

Walmart recalled the donkey meat — a popular snack in some parts of China — after it was found to contain the cheaper priced fox meat.
